- Sidney Public Schools
- Welcome
-
My family and I feel privileged to be a part of the Sidney community. Over the past eight years, I have worked in the role of Title I Coordinator and then now in the position of Alternative Education Supervising Teacher. And, in this position as Alt Ed Supervising Teacher, this will be my fifth year. Our HS Alternative Education, off-site, setting provides opportunities for students to graduate. There is an extensive process for a student to be placed in this setting with several staff and administrators collaborating to make that determination and ensure it is the most appropriate decision for the district, school and student.I am commited to bring my many experiences, my educational training and background, and my heart to this HS Alt Ed position and, of course, to the students and staff I work with.
Personal Bio:*Little known fact: I was born on the island of Guam. * My mother lives in Missoula, Montana (in Hellgate Canyon). My father has retired and chosen to be a "snowbird", living in the far southern reaches of Texas in the winter and back into Montana during road construction (I mean, late spring through early fall). And, finally, my brother and his family live in Castlerock, a community just south of Denver, Colorado where he and his wife have high level positions as an engineer in a high-speed tech communications company.* My in-laws have lived in Union Grove, Wisconsin for decades. This Fall, they will be moving to Bedford, Virginia. And, finally, my wife's two younger brothers also live outside of Wisconsin; one in Bedford, Virginia and the other lives in rural Northeast Oklahoma.

We are planning to kick off an exciting pilot program called "MATH CLUB". Flyers have already been sent out to a select number of younger K-8 students to meet up on Friday mornings for a couple hours and have fun playing with Mathematics and Problem-Solving activities. The time is meant to be social, academically engaging, and encouraging while learning. We will utilize a few online components during our time together. It will be highly important to always have a certified K-8 teacher present and facilitating these activities. And, finally, this opportunity just might spark something new in our school district, using at least parts of Fridays for enrichment and fun. We will not be meeting every Friday, yet the experience should be a great time. It's not said very often, at all, but... let's Celebrate Math!
If you did receive a flyer for Math Club and are checking here on the school website for information about myself and my tenure in this district, please do give me a ring at my office phone or send me an email. Thanks.
