Welcome to West Side!  We are a team at West Side School.  Thank you for entrusting your child’s education to our West Side staff.  We are passionate about kids and love what we do.

My name is Sharri Vandall, I am the current principal at West Side.  I have been involved in education for 26 years.  In that time I have held many roles: non-instructional aide, special education paraprofessional, classroom teacher, instructional coach, and principal.  I believe that all students can learn.  My hope is for your child to become a lifelong learner, persevere when things are difficult, and build a stamina for learning.  All students have strengths, it is up to our school to foster those strengths.  As the instructional leader at West Side, I believe in transparency, I want you to be a part of your child’s education, after all, you were your child’s first teacher.  At West Side we strive to be kind and nurturing, our students are our passion.

I believe that it takes a village to raise a child.  I want you to be involved in your child’s education.  I invite you to come and visit West Side.  It is my mission to have parents in our school.  Throughout the year we will have many activities for you and your student.  Please come see the great things we are doing at West Side.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher for volunteer opportunities in their classroom.  I am excited with the lifting of COVID 19 restrictions to invite you to come eat lunch with your student.  Please call ahead to the school office by 8:30AM, at (406)433-2530 if you plan on eating lunch with your student, the cost is $4.00 for a school lunch.  If you bring your own lunch, we ask that soda pop not be brought into the cafeteria.

At West Side we have school wide expectations for our students:

    Be Safe

    Be Responsible

    Be Respectful

    Be a Learner

I know we will have a great school year!  Please be part of your child’s education.  I am glad you are part of the West Side Family!

    Thanks,

    Sharri Vandall, West Side Principal

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle.”  Plato
